2012 - "The Year of Color Knitting"

It's time to declare the theme for 2012 knitting. Adrienne gave me a wonderful fair isle book for Christmas - Norwegian Patterns for Knitting. So many wonderful patterns. Lovely sweaters, but I'm really interested the mittens or the hats. 2012 is "The Year of Color Knitting."

My first fair isle for 2012 is going to be a scarf based on the Norwegian Snowflake Scarf I made for my friend Jill. I'm looking for a project for my two skeins of Knitpicks Chroma yarn.

I'm going to substitute a fish and water motif for the snowflake colorwork at the ends of the scarf. This will be a fun scarf to wear in MN in the winter. A bright spot in the cold weather. I'll knit it the round so it will be really thick and perfect against the sub zero winds.

I'm also working on a scarf for Madonna, a hat for my sister, and an earflap hat for Cameron. Casting on several projects during my vacation. I want to prepare for "Free the Needles February."
